She nodded slowly. “Yes…” She agreed quietly. She wasn’t sure how she could get over her fear, or if he could even help. She looked up at him. “What do you know about my fear, anyway?” She asked.

“To be frank, it doesn’t matter! I could say you were afraid of power, of the change it will bring, afraid of yourself…  but bottom line is; it’s your fear. Somethin’ you have to do yourself, maybe with the help of someone dear to you, but mostly yourself. I’m just a guide here I can show you the path but can’t walk it for you, you dig?” he explained, making various gestures with his hands while doing so.

She nodded. “I-I understand.” She answered slowly. She wasn’t sure if anyone could help her with something that was so intimate to herself, but he was nice enough to give her a clearer view. “I’ll keep that all in mind.”

“Oh ‘n’ one more thing…” He began as he leaned back again, placing a hand to his temple in a slightly weary fashion as everything around them began to fade. “…remember. Making peace with the other Twilight, with the potential you is the key!”

And a moment later, Twilight opened her eyes. She woke up in her bed. It was morning and she felt, oddly, well rested.

She did awake, her amethyst eyes fixated on the ceiling a moment as she laid there. “What an odd dream…”

He raised an eyebrow, the name ringing a bell, but he couldn’t remember exactly “Not exactly. Would you care to refresh my memory?”

She chewed her lip. “We, uh dated. To put it simply. A-and he left…then not long after that you came along.” She smiled up at him.

He nodded, processing this new information “I see.” he said simply. “And now he’s back.” He kept his expression as neutral as possible as he tried to wrap his head around the situation.

She nodded, chewing at her lip anxiously. “Y-yes…a-and he thought we were still together, at first. I have explained to him I am with someone else…but I feel horrible.”

Taking a Break ((Twilight and Pinkamena))

Twilight took in a spoonful of the soup and a sip of tea before speaking, her voice quiet. “Pinkie, there is something I’ve wanted to ask you…and the spark that happened,” She wiggled her fingers that rested on the table. “Sort of confirmed it. But I have to ask…do you feel..off, when you’re around me?”

Pinkie looked up at her friend, a mildly shocked look in her eyes.  Swallowing the soup she had slurped, she straightened back up in her seat.  ”In a way, I suppose,” she answered in a voice just as quiet as her friend’s.  ”Not in a bad way, of course- I trust you completely, Twilight- but in a sort of…mysterious way.  As though there’s some sort of bond between us beyond our friendship- one that fated us to meet each other that day here in Canterlot.”  She cleared her throat and looked away, her cheeks slightly pink.  ”Forgive me if I sound like I speak of some sort of great prophecy.  It’s just…a very strange feeling.”  Her eyes turned back to Twilight.  ”…Do you feel similarly around me?”

Twilight paused, thinking back to that day. “Yes.” She affirmed plainly. “Pinkie, that day I have no doubt in my mind I was drawn to you. It was not instinct over someone was lost in the city, but something else. A sort of…need to be near you. And it hurt nearly, here.” She pointed to her horn. “It picks up things I cannot, being tied to magic. I know you’re not of that talent, and I barely am, so it’s very curious I was led to you. We have a connection, though I cannot fathom what it is. The same connection led me to have you read about the Elements. They seem…important.”

She fell into his arms with a sigh. “I feel so confused suddenly,” She muttered. “Y-you see…someone I once knew has come back to me…”

“Oh? Who would that be? Anyone I know?” he frowned, worried for his lover.

She looked up at him. There was no use in hiding it, and she didn’t want to hide anything from him anyway. She only had to hope he wasn’t the jealous type. “D-do you remember Wade?”

Twilight smiled and waved for the girl to follow her. “Come, we’ll go down to the kitchens and see what they’ve got.” She led the way down to the end of the corridor and down the staircase, and finally they made their way to the massive palace kitchens.

A few dishes lay out on the counter, looking like soup and sandwiches  Twilight helped herself to a small portion of each, also pouring out some iced tea and sitting herself down at a table nearby.

She followed quickly behind her friend, soon arriving at the kitchens with her.  She also got a small helping of the soup and sandwiches, pouring herself some tea as well.  She sat down across from Twilight, taking a small bite out of her sandwich.

Twilight took in a spoonful of the soup and a sip of tea before speaking, her voice quiet. “Pinkie, there is something I’ve wanted to ask you…and the spark that happened,” She wiggled her fingers that rested on the table. “Sort of confirmed it. She nodded, and turned back to her work. “That’s fine then…” She trailed off, feeling an ache in her forehead, a pull she got sometimes around powerful magic, as if letting her know it was around. It didn’t happen often, and the better she knew a person the less noticeable it was. Yet this stranger, who seemed so sure in knowing his intent, triggered it as he strode past her. She furrowed her brow, anxious.

He moved, unconcerned over to the section on mythology and ancient texts. No modern texts held his name— he wondered what Celestia hoped to accomplish with everyone forgetting his name. It just made things easier when nobody knew who he was. A slight smirk tugged at his lips momentarily before he scanned the titles, letting a tendril of magic slip out from him and prod, searching for the books. Four. Four books. They really had forgotten him, if the layers upon layers of dust on the old tomes were any indication. He reached up and took the books he needed.

Twilight had her back turned to him, but glanced over every so often. He did seem to know exactly what he sought, and yet…she still felt uneasy. There was something too familiar about him, something she had once known…

The feeling seemed to tickle at the back of her brain and she shook her head, trying to clear it. She was trying mentally to convince herself that he was merely a patron with a certain thing in mind to check out.

thehumbledprince replied to your post: Twilight, my dear, would you do the honor of going to prom with me?

Wonderful. he said, nodding slightly before noticing something bothering her Dear, is everything alright?

She looked up, forcing a smile. He was asking her out, and she needed to show how happy she was for it. “N-no, I’m fine. Just a lot on my mind is all…”

“Aw, you know that you can tell me anything. What kind of boyfriend/Prince would I be if I didn’t listen to your plights?” he said, embracing her.

She fell into his arms with a sigh. “I feel so confused suddenly,” She muttered. “Y-you see…someone I once knew has come back to me…”

Guess Who’s Back?

She felt an instant pang of guilt but tried to swallow it down. “There are plenty of open rooms in the palace.” She told him softly. “I-I have to go where I’m staying soon, b-but I can help you find a room.” She eyed the blood on his chest, chewing her lip. “A-are you okay?”

Wade sighed. “That’s fine.” He shrugged. “Where are you staying?” He was just wondering. He noticed that she was eyeing his wound. “Oh, that…” He inhaled, deeply. “I had a few broken ribs earlier, but they healed. I don’t know why, but it hasn’t stopped bleeding.”

She ignored his question, focused more on his injury. It wasn’t far off from the first time they had met, she remembered suddenly. She pressed her hand to staunch the bloodflow, not caring that it ran over her fingers like crimson tears.

“We’ll need to get this patched up then. Despite your powers, I don’t think blood-loss feels very good.” She looked up at him. “I have a first aid kit in the desk. Do you think that will be enough or should we go to the hospital wing?”
